Way I see it, there are three main kinds of gamers: casual gamers, hardcore gamers, and… home decorating gamers?! Yup, today we celebrate the awesomeness of the last group by sharing some of the most amazing video game room decors we could find on the Internet. From console-inspired furniture to bedrooms designed around specific video gaming franchises, these living spaces will no doubt make any gaming geek go gaga with home furnishing envy. Here are our picks, categorized by gaming themes!

First up is Lauren, who magically redesigned her somewhat generic, semi-dull old bedroom into a gorgeous themed homage to Portal. Not only is the bedroom fully furnished with a portal gun, posters, color-coded sheets, and painted Portal wall art styles, Lauren even went to the extent of creating her very own orange-blue portals – an illusion cleverly crafted with mirrors and lights. Talk about attention to detail! You can check out more of her bedroom photos here.
Then we have Randy and his wife who gathered a bunch of everyday household supplies to create this amazing Portal bedroom for their ‘test subject’ kids. Like Lauren, this couple did an exceptionally amazing job hand-making their very own ‘infinite portals’, also made with mirrors and under-glowing lights.
The walls are also decorated with Portal art designs: a painted doorway, wall ridges, and other recognizable game symbols. Even the Companion Cube makes an appearance! GLaDOS would indeed be glad. Check out Randy’s image gallery here.
Reddit user BIG_HAIRY_AZZZ (yes, that’s the name he chose) doesn’t suffer from acute nuclear apocalypse paranoia; no, the man just really, really, really loves Fallout. He’s constructed his very own Vault room in what looks to be a dingy basement of sorts. His attention to video game decorative detail is impeccable. This video game room creation comes complete with a Vault-Tec logo, a door that rolls open and shut along a base hinge, a radiation warning sign, among other geeky gaming details. Vault a sight to behold! Vault?! Geddit? Sounds like ‘what’? Um, never mind.
It’s one thing to decorate your room with a few Pacman furnishings here and there; it’s quite another to devote entire room walls to this retro gaming classic! Here are a couple of video game room designers who went all out to pay homage to the cheeky, hungry, yellow thingamajig. Thankfully, these rooms are not haunted by any real ghosts… we think.
4. Angry Birds
They say “A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush”. Well, who gives a damn about stupid bushes when you can have dozens of amazing Angry Birds flying around your geeky bedroom instead? Maritza Martinez certainly agrees, seeing as she’s covered her entire bedroom walls with murals of the self-destructive (but cute) endothermic vertebrates (say what?!). She’s even got matching pillow cases just in case, ya know, you didn’t get that she loves Angry Birds. You can see more pictures here.
Also, if you ever plan to pay a visit to Sunset Lakes Kissimmee, be sure to stop by this exquisitely designed home for rent. Among other themed room designs, there’s an Angry Bird decorated bedroom that’s just perfect for your rowdy kids (or yourself) to shut themselves in. Just remember not to wreck anything. Real-life ain’t no video game, folks!
Minecraft players are especially crafty when it comes to self-decorating their bedrooms with the game’s unique blocky art style. First, we have a loving mother who surprised her son with her awesome Minecraft-makeover of his room complete with pixelated blankets, wall art, torches and … a creeper that looks a little like a giant green… dick? Amazing stuff.
But wait, here’s more Minecraft room goodness!
