The best idle games like Cookie Clicker always appeal to our base addictions. Also referred to as ‘clicker games’ or ‘incremental games’, these titles generally involve you repeatedly performing simple actions (e.g. clicking the screen) to gain some form of currency. This is then used to purchase in-game items or power-ups that, in turn, increase your rate of passive income for you to buy more stuff. And so the endless cycle continues.
Inspired by Cow Clicker and Candy Box, the original Cookie Clicker is often credited for ushering in a brand new era of best idle games. In essence, you’re tasked with quickly clicking a large cookie, producing more cookies per second (CPS). These cookies buy you items, such as Grandmas and Farms, that generate a greater passive cookie income to nab more goodies. As you’d expect, there’s no real ending to any of this. Instead, the main appeal lies with you gathering more and more cookies, simply for the sake of it.
Of course, Cookie Clicker is not the only game of its kind. Here are 10 best idle games like Cookie Clicker that’ll have you furiously clicking and increasing your stash like a helpless addict!

1. Clicker Heroes
The best idle games like Cookie Clicker keep things simple yet addictive. Clicker Heroes is no exception. You start out by clicking monsters to kill them, collecting the gold they drop. You spend that gold buying new heroes that increase your damage to epic levels. Higher damage generates even more gold, letting you buy further items. And on and on it goes.
Clicker Heroes is unique in its mythical inspirations. Rather than plain ol’ cookies, you’ll use special characters like the mighty Athena or King Midas. In addition, there are more than 100 different monster types, all beautifully designed and animated.
Overall, Clicker Heroes is easily one of the most popular and best idle games like Cookie Clicker. A free must-try for all clicker / incremental fans!
2. Tap Titans 2
Like Cookie Clicker, Tap Titans 2 is all about clicking and currency increments – albeit with RPG elements thrown in. You start with your main hero, tapping on Titans to kill them as you climb to higher levels. Along the way, you’ll hire a band of supporting characters with the gold you acquire, all of whom will assist with your idle damage-per-second. In addition, there’s a range of special abilities to buy that’ll further help in your fights and create passive income. Tap Titans 2 also features timed boss fights, adding pressure to keep leveling up. As with most idle games, it’s all a matter of rinse and repeat.
Tap Titans 2 a slightly unique for its reset feature (though it’s not the only game to have this). When progress gets slow, you hit this to restart your level and damage score from scratch. Sounds painful, right? However, doing this unlocks fresh abilities that hasten your progress to brand new heights.
This release is among the best idle games like Cookie Clicker available. It comes with extremely polished graphics and a well-tuned RPG system that’ll appeal to most clicker fans. You may also wish to try Tap Heroes and Tap Adventure for similar incremental experiences.

Ever wondered what it’s like to be a gazillionaire? Us too. But, alas, we can only dream. Luckily, Bitcoin Billionaire helps a little with feeding our greed. You click the screen to generate bitcoins, using them to purchase other investments that in turn aid your income growth. Buying Hyperbits further improves your offline income. You can also nab aesthetic items while winning various bonus Prizes.
Bitcoin Billionaire is a bit more straightforward than some other games like Cookie Clicker. However, it is by far one of the best idle games around, enjoying high reviews on both Google Play and iTunes.
4. Poop Clicker
LOL, we’ll keep this short as the name speaks for itself. You click poop to generate more poop income to buy items (e.g. hand, babies, toilets, etc.) that make an incremental amount of poop. Soon enough you’ll be swimming in your very stash of compounding sh*t! It’s clicky, it’s fun, and among the best idle games like Cookie Clicker around.
5. Adventure Capitalist
In AdCap, you start with a humble lemonade stand that soon brings in income. From there, you’re free to expand into all sorts of capitalist ventures (e.g. buying a hockey team, a newspaper company, etc.). Each of these creates further profits, adding to your overall obscene wealth. Earn enough and you’ll be able to hire managers that’ll help you grow your wealth even when you’re not actively playing. The game also hosts public Events that further feed your lust for money with various themed challenges and objectives. Similar to Tap Titans 2, you can sacrifice your entire stash in order to unlock special bonuses to speed up your progress.
Adventure Capitalist is by far one of the most addictive and best idle games like Cookie Clicker, as seen by its ‘Very Positive’ Steam rating. You might also want to try Adventure Communist, created by the same developers, though this has gotten mixed reviews.
6. Time Clickers
Time Clickers mixes things up by combining first-person shooting with the usual clicking / idle mechanics. You aim a pistol, collecting gold as you blast enemies and cubes to smithereens. You’ll then buy new weapons for yourself while upgrading various stats and abilities (e.g. increased damage, income generation, etc.). In addition, elite sharp-shooters can be hired to automatically assist you. Graphically, Time Clickers brims with colorful aesthetics set to a futuristic theme.
Unlike some best idle games like Cookie Clicker, Time Clickers (the Steam version) is totally free of micro-transactions. This will likely appeal to you if you’d rather avoid the temptation to spend actual money on your incremental addiction.
7. Egg, Inc.

8. Sakura Clicker
Why click cookies when you can tap half-naked women instead, right? Well, if that floats your boat, you’ll want to give Sakura Clicker a try. The game invites you to rapidly click on big-chested anime girls, earning gold as you ‘slay’ them. This lets you purchase more skimpy outfits for your own hero as you hire allies to increase your attack damage. Sakura Clicker also proudly proclaims to feature more than 800+ types of female moans played during your battles. Apparently, that’s a selling point.
Gameplay-wise, Sakura Clicker doesn’t stray too far from other best idle games like Cookie Clicker. That’s a good thing, since you’ll quickly find yourself addicted for hours on end. You’ll be hard pressed to find a better ‘boner-fide’ increment game than this *cue eye rolls*!

Revenue is made from either selling your crops or clicking on harassing critters to defeat them. As you play, special Helpers drop by to automatically sell your crops for you – even when you aren’t around. You’ll thus be freed up to do other activities (e.g. planting new types of crops, etc.), further adding to your money stream as you buy more and more revenue-generating items.
Plantera’s content is a little on the scarce side. You’ll likely be able to purchase most items from a single day’s worth of grinding. Still, as with most games like Cookie Clicker, this incremental title knows how to keep things straightforward yet insanely addictive.
PickCrafter isn’t the prettiest looking app by a long shot. Still, if you’re into both idle games and Minecraft visuals, you’ll love this. Basically, you click on a giant pick-axe to mine for resources. These can then be used to craft items that enhance your passive picks-per-second. From there, it’s all a matter of clicking away for hours, buying more items, and growing your never-ending pick rate numbers. You’ll also get to unlock special equipment and loot chests that further improve your stats.
Like most best idle games like Cookie Clicker, PickCrafter feeds off your hunger for exponential growth and rewards. At this point, the game sits on a high rating of 4.3 / 5 from 160,000+ player votes on Google Play. Impressive!
